South African firm to raise record regional fund

Pamodzi Investment Holdings, a group of investors promoting black empowerment in South Africa, is planning to raise a $1.3bn (€950m) buyout fund, the largest of its kind in the country as the region attracts more interest and money.

The investment group, which last year floated its gold mining business on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, will trump the $880m raised by local private equity firm Brait in January.
