Pension funds in South Africa are becoming more interested in hedge funds, with the majority saying they will consider investing in the sector in the future, according to a new survey.

The survey from SEI Investments, the asset manager, was conducted by the department of financial management at Pretoria University. It polled trustees representing 87 South African retirement funds with R158bn (€19.3bn) under management.
