Independent shareholders in Sports Direct, the troubled sports retailer led by Mike Ashley, have rejected the reappointment of chairman Keith Hellawell by 54% to 46%.

The margin is similar to the vote against Hellawell by independent shareholders at September's annual general meeting, which led to today's poll.
