Lodewijk van Setten, European counsel and director of State Street Global Advisors, the Boston-based fund manager, has resigned to join international law firm Covington & Burling's as a special counsel.

Van Setten joins the London office of the law firm, which advises on regulatory law in the financial services sector, in January next year.
