St James’s Place gained nearly £1bn in net new money to manage in the first three months of this year, continuing a positive trend of inflows enjoyed by wealth managers in the first quarter.

The wealth manager - whose biggest shareholder is UK bank Lloyds Banking Group - reported £947m of net inflows in the first quarter, according to its interim management statement published this morning.
