Christopher Stainforth, a UK director at Ermgassen & Co, the boutique finance house, is to take over from Geoffrey Chamberlain as chief executive of Durlacher, the technology investment bank.

Stainforth confirmed he was leaving Ermgassen. He said: 'It's a long story, but it's very friendly.'
