Standard Bank of South Africa has made two hires to its UK mergers and acquisitions team, as part of a strategy to expand its presence in the UK market.

Brian Livingston joins as deputy head of corporate finance in London. He previously worked at 3i, the venture capital firm, as a director. He was at 3i for 12 years, and worked with a variety of small and medium sized companies, advising on more than 50 transactions worth between £5m (€8m) and £100m.
