Standard Chartered has appointed Tom Emmet as head of mergers and acquisitions for the Middle East and North Africa region. He replaces Apoorva Shah who has decided to leave the bank to pursue other career opportunities.

Emmet, who will be based in Dubai, joins Standard Chartered from the Royal Bank of Scotland where he was head of corporate finance and equity capital markets for Middle East and Africa.
