Standard Chartered defers Hong Kong listing

Standard Chartered, the UK-based bank, has become the latest company to postpone an equity offering this week due to volatile markets following the terrorist attacks in the US.

In a statement the company said: &quotGiven the tragic events in the US and the consequent uncertainty in the global equity markets, Standard Chartered has decided to defer its listing in Hong Kong, which was scheduled for October, and the associated equity offering.&quot
