Standard Chartered names Maria Ramos as chair to succeed José Viñals

Ramos will receive an annual salary of £1.3m

Standard Chartered has appointed existing board member Maria Ramos as its new chair, succeeding José Viñals.

Ramos, 65, will assume the role following the bank’s annual general meeting on 8 May, according to a 4 February statement. Viñals, 70, is set to retire from the board at the end of his nine-year term as chair.
