Standard Life Aberdeen confirms Sir Douglas Flint as chair

Former HSBC chair will succeed Sir Gerry Grimstone in January

City stalwart Sir Douglas Flint has been confirmed as the next chair of Standard Life Aberdeen. He is replacing Sir Gerry Grimstone, who is stepping down from the Scottish asset manager after 11 years.

Flint, a former chair of HSBC, the bank, was among a number of high-profile people Simon Troughton, SLA’s deputy chairman, and non-executive director Melanie Gee approached.
