Standard Life is standing by its decision to remain a mutual despite a new threat from the Members Rights Campaign (MRC), led by Scottish businessman Gordon Hart.

Standard Life, which met with Hart on Tuesday, is arguing that the change of structure and focus that demutualisation would bring risks damaging the business.
