Standard Life Investments Private Equity, part of the UK life assurer, has appointed Robert Hatch as the third member of its fledgling North American operation.

Hatch was an associate at Argo Global Capital, a Massachusetts-based venture capital firm, until 2002 and then did an MBA at Tuck Business School.
