Standard Life has appointed a head of Brexit strategy, tasking him with overseeing the insurance giant's planning for the UK's exit from the European Union.

Paul McGhee - an expert on European financial regulation - started in the role this week, a Standard Life spokesman confirmed. He has spent the past six years working for the Association for Financial Markets in Europe, a trade body, where he was most recently director of strategy.
