Buxton seals £600m deal for Old Mutual Global Investors

Private equity firm TA Associates is backing the buyout of the single strategy funds business

Richard Buxton, the renowned UK fund manager, is to lead a management buyout of Old Mutual Global Investors in a potentially transformational deal for the fund management arm of which he is also chief executive.

Buxton, who took on the top job at OMGI in August 2015 having joined two years previously, has secured financial backing from private equity firm TA Associates to buy the fund unit from South African parent Old Mutual.
