Starling Bank has claimed the top spot in Which? Money’s annual ranking of the UK’s best banks for current accounts.

The mobile-phone app, which has no physical branches and only introduced online banking in October, dethroned First Direct as the provider of Britain’s best bank account, according to the ranking released on December 9.
