State Street Corporation's Investment Manager Solutions (IMS) has appointed Barry Johnstone as chief technology officer in Europe.

Johnstone joins from Scudder Kemper Investments where he was director of information technology for Europe. At State Street he will be reporting to John Campbell, managing director and senior vice-president of IMS Europe.
