State Street Global Advisors has promoted Rory Tobin to a global role overseeing its exchange traded fund business, bringing an end a co-head arrangement that the company had put in place to help grow this business.

The asset management arm of the US bank, which oversees ETF assets of $725bn globally, has given Tobin sole responsibility for its SPDR ETF division, the company revealed this week.
