State Street recruits liability-driven investment head from LGIM

US firm wants a bigger slice of the UK's surging market in LDI funds for pension schemes

State Street’s asset management arm, which has ambitions to crack the rapidly growing £965bn market for liability-hedging contracts for UK pension schemes, has brought Jeremy Rideau in from Legal & General Investment Management, the market leaders.

Rideau has joined the Boston-based firm as head of liability-driven investments for State Street Global Advisors in Europe. He will be based in London, reporting to Stephen Yeats, head of fixed income, currencies and cash, for the region.
