Bosses at Britain’s biggest banks are being urged to stop funding new oil and gas expansion by a “weird and wonderful coalition” that includes celebrities Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, politicians and climate activists.

Make My Money Matter, a climate finance campaign founded by Love Actually director Richard Curtis, has called on the chief executives of HSBC, Barclays, Santander, NatWest and Lloyds to stop bankrolling new projects by the world's biggest polluters.
