A Barclays managing director who worked on overhauling the bank's sprawling technology systems has quit to join Macquarie amid the battle for senior IT talent in investment banking.
Stephen West worked on Barclays' Transform initiative — a project to overhaul legacy systems and simplify the bank that began under former chief executive Anthony Jenkins. West joined the bank in 2013.
