Ex-Goldman banker and marine runs for mayor

Steven Fulop left Wall Street once to join the Marines. This time, he is departing to devote himself to politics in Jersey City

Steven Fulop, a vice president in equity trading at Sanford C Bernstein, has become the latest banker to swap Wall Street for politics after stepping down to run for mayor of Jersey City.

Thirty-five-year-old Fulop is leaving Wall Street for a second time, having stepped down from his associate role at Goldman Sachs days after the September 2001 terrorist attacks in New York to enlist with the US Marine Corps Reserves.
