Stewart to head new CBI council

John Stewart, deputy chief executive of Barclays Bank, has been appointed chairman of a new Confederation of British Industry council, set up to support e-business.

The 30-strong council will be responsible for lobbying MPs and MEPs and encouraging companies to adopt new ideas to improve competitiveness.
