US broker Stifel Financial has a clear resolution for 2017: making a name for itself in the European tech business.

The firm has hired Panmure Gordon's head of technology, media and telecommunications Fred Walsh to lead the charge, his mandate being to track-down European technology clients and hire more people in London, according to a person familiar with the plans.
