Stifel shuttering research in Zurich and Frankfurt in European retreat

The US investment bank is set to close some research functions in Europe

US investment bank Stifel is cutting some equity research teams in Europe, Financial News has learned, as fees from stock analysis remain under pressure.

The bank, which also owns financial services focused investment bank KBW, plans to shutter its equity research functions in Zurich and Frankfurt, according to people familiar with the matter.
