Europe’s huge regulatory project to shift billions of dollars in share trading from anonymous venues to traditional stock exchanges has yet to bear fruit a year after coming into force.

Analysis by JPMorgan raises questions about the effectiveness of the European Union’s revised Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, which came into force in January 2018 after almost 10 years in the making.
