Investment banks in London are locked in a battle for maths whizzes and quantitative experts, as large companies double down on the tech revolution sweeping the City.

Banks across London are planning an aggressive recruitment spree for so-called strats — quantitative finance and technology experts who have become increasingly integral to large investment banks in recent years. This is pushing up salaries for a limited supply of talent.
