The flagship equity fund managed by embattled stock picker Neil Woodford will probably be closed until December — an announcement that has coincided with news that his eponymous investment trust could ditch him as its manager.

Link Fund Solutions, which acts as the authorised corporate director to the £3.7bn Woodford Equity Income fund, told investors on July 29 that the fund will remain closed for at least another four months.
