An unconscious bias among those responsible for recruitment in the City of London is one of the biggest barriers to women moving up the ranks in financial services, an influential cross-party committee of MPs has been told.

At its second women in finance evidence session, held today, the Treasury Committee heard from recruitment specialists about why so few women are entering the sector and progressing to more senior roles, and what can be done to tackle the problem.
