Stubbs to retire from Friends Ivory & Sime

John Stubbs, veteran fund manager of Friends Ivory & Sime (FIS), is to retire at the end of the year.

Stubbs was the chief investment officer at Ivory & Sime until it merged with Friends Provident to become FIS in early 1998. As a result of the merger he became deputy chief investment officer at FIS, reporting to Friends Provident's Howard Carter, and had overall responsibility for investment trusts.
