Study suggests plan to lift lockdowns with fewer Covid deaths – vaccines aren’t enough

Test, trace and isolate strategies will be key to keeping low levels of infection

Vaccination alone could be “insufficient” to contain the outbreak of Covid-19, research from the University of Warwick has found.

The study assumed a default vaccine uptake of 95% in those aged 80 years and older, 85% in those aged 50 to 79 and 75% for the 18 to 49 age group.
