Suez halves CEO's bonus

Suez, the Franco-Belgian utilities group, has halved the 2003 bonus of its chief executive Gérard Mestrallet, although he had met all targets to qualify for the full amount.

The move, announced during this week's annual shareholders' meeting by Jean Gandois, the head of Suez's remunerations committee, aims to allay shareholders' concerns about corporate governance.
