Sullivan & Cromwell is beefing up its practice that defends corporations against shareholder activist attacks. 

The prestigious New York-based law firm said Wednesday that it is set to hire two top activism defense lawyers, Lawrence Elbaum and Patrick Gadson, from Vinson & Elkins, confirming an earlier report from The Wall Street Journal.
