SunGard, the IT provider, has strengthened its European capabilities with the acquisition of Forbatec, a financial software provider to the investment management and banking sector in Germany, Luxembourg and Austria.

Through its investment management systems arm, SunGard provides technological support for the front-, middle- and back-office activities at global asset management companies.
