SunGard, the highly-acquisitive US technology group, has bought a private equity technology firm in a move aimed at bolstering its investment management division.

The division, known as SunGard Investment Management Systems, has bought the Miami-based Financial Technologies, which develops software for portfolio administration and accounting for private equity firms, for an undisclosed sum.
