Dr Dean Jovic has been appointed to the newly created position of group managing director of risk management/Basel II, at SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, as the company focuses on the requirements of the Bank for International Settlement's Basel II Accord.

SunGard Trading and Risk Systems is the financial trading and risk management arm of financial IT software group SunGard. Under Basel II proposals banks would have to set aside a certain amount of capital based on an assessment of their exposure to operational risk.
