A 30-year veteran of the Swiss bank will become only the second female chair in the FTSE 100 when she takes the post at the end of April

A veteran Credit Suisse banker is to become only the second female chairman in the FTSE 100.

Susan Kilsby, a veteran of the European mergers and acquisitions sector who spent more than 30 years at Credit Suisse and its predecessors, has been named as the new chairman of Shire, the £16.7 billion London-listed specialty pharmaceuticals group.
