SVG reports on its 'most difficult year'

UK-listed private equity investor SVG Capital has drawn a line under a difficult year in its annual report, stating it had strengthened its balance sheet considerably, despite having to write down three of its largest investments to zero and witness its net asset value per share plummet by 64.3% over the year to 31 December.

Nicholas Ferguson, chairman of SVG, said the year had been taxing for the group in his statement.
