Swedish investors back Volkswagen bid as deadline looms

Swedish institutional investors split as some pension funds reject the offer, but deal 'likely to succeed'

Volkswagen's bid to take full control of Swedish truckmaker Scania looks set to succeed, according to one shareholder backing the deal, with the final deadline for the offer falling due later today.

In February, Volkswagen offered 200 kronor ($30.78) per share to acquire the 62.6% of Scania that it doesn't already own, in a bid worth more than $9 billion in all.
