Sweden's giant AP Fonden-1 and AP Fonden-2 national pension schemes have posted their first profit since they were launched in 2001. Each returned 5.5%

Both funds said the positive numbers came principally on the back of good returns from Swedish equities. The Swedish stock exchange has performed substantially better during the first half of 2004 than most posting an absolute return of 12.3%.
