Swedish fund management house Matteus Fondkommission is putting pressure on clients to become more active investors by increasing its charges.
The firm wants to get rid of smaller retail clients who use it's funds as deposit accounts and do not actively follow Matteus's holdings, said Johan Dahlgren, interim managing director. By doing this Matteus aims to concetrate on managing money for larger clients and clients who actively invest and can therefore produce more revenue for the company.
