Swedish national fund diversifies with alternative investments

A-P Fonden 1, one of the Swedish national funds, will invest 3% of its SKr117.1bn (€12.85bn) in alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equity and property.

The decision follows an internal Asset Liability Modelling (ALM) study that recommended diversification into more asset classes to boost returns. The other three national funds also use alternative investments or have plans to do so in future.
