Finansinspektionen, the Swedish financial services supervisory body, is investigating 31 websites which are alleged to have sold funds or other securities products without adequate licences.

The investigation of internet providers is part of a global effort by the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (Iosco) to detect fraud on the internet, said Lennart Torstensson, supervision head for Finansinspektionen in Stockholm.
