Switzerland is set to join European Union countries by planning to liberalise its gambling and online gaming market, and could provide an important role model other countries seeking to open up the sector, say experts.

The land-locked country is following in the footsteps of France and other EU countries to liberalise parts of its gambling market, although, as it is not part of the EU, is doing so without pressure from the European Commission.
