Analysts at JPMorgan are already asking whether Xavier Rolet's immediate exit from the London Stock Exchange could reinvigorate takeover interest from one of the biggest exchange groups in the world.
The bank's analysts have revived speculation that Atlanta-based Intercontinental Exchange, with a value by market capitalisation just shy of $41bn, could bid for its smaller rival. The London-based group is now valued as £12.9bn, following a roughly 2% fall in its share price this morning.
