Tech sector worries weigh on global stocks

Negative mood follows disappointing sales from major tech firms; US futures point to opening declines

Global stocks dropped Friday, dragged lower by lacklustre technology earnings in the US and signalling a return to the negative mood that has dominated markets for most of the week.

After Thursday’s rally on Wall Street, US futures pointed to opening declines of 1% and 1.4% for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500, respectively.
