Tele2, Sweden's second-biggest telecoms operater, has hired Rothschild to launch an all-cash bid for Song Networks, the pan-Nordic broadband operator.

Tele2's bid, which values Song at Dkr4.4bn (€591m), trumps a €443bn offer made last week by Teledanmark, the Danish telecoms company.
