Warburg Dillon Read (WDR) is seeking to capitalise on the victory in the Vodafone-Mannesmann battle by strengthening its M&A team and its franchise in Germany.

A new co-head of M&A in Europe, Hartmuth Jung, who joined from Credit Suisse First Boston along with five other colleagues, starts work next week and will be based in Frankfurt. He replaces the London-based David Sola who is moving into a more specialised role as head of the wireless internet sector team.
