Temasek, Singapore’s giant state investment fund, has appointed an emerging markets banker from HSBC as part of its push do more deals in Africa and the Middle East.

Frederick Chima joined the 266 billion Singaporean dollar ($190 billion) fund's London office this week as a director focused on Africa and the Middle East, a spokesman for Temasek confirmed. He will report to Nagi Hamiyeh, who leads the fund's activities in those regions.
