Terra Firma and CPPIB net more than $7.5bn with aircraft lease exit

Terra Firma Capital Partners and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board have agreed to sell Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services, a Dublin-based aircraft leasing company, to a Dubai-based rival for more than $7.5 billion, Private Equity News reports.

The sale brings to an end over a decade of ownership for the UK buyout firm and the Canadian pension behemoth, which bought the company in 2006 for €5.68 billion, according to Terra Firma's website, before merging it with Pegasis, a competitor, in 2007.
